The
brackets
jim314.com
is one guy in his spare time. I own and operate this site and
thoroughly enjoy doing so. 2011-2012 will be my eleventh year putting up
basketball
brackets on the internet. None of this is possible without
coacht.com and the hundreds of you that enter data there so that I
can create and update the brackets.
As a boy, I sat on the bench with my dad when he coached. I was with
him whenever the Eaglettes had a tournament in some far-off place
(like Lawrenceburg, White County, or Altoona).
No one taught me to love basketball; I caught a love for the
game. I'm asked often, "Why do you do all of this?" The answer is
simple—I love the game. I love a hot gym in the middle of July
getting ready for a new season. I love the sound the net makes when
the ball never touches the rim. I love squeaking shoes on a clean
hardwood floor. I love a half-court trap that catches an
unsuspecting point guard off-guard. I love tournament time
when the whole season is on the line. I love the game that has
given me so much and jim314.com is how I give back.
The rest
I speak at my
church and sometimes am asked for my notes (I tend to do quite a bit
of research on a topic prior to teaching). As such, I've created a few
sections (teachings, blog, and links) of jim314.com to handle those requests as well as
to provide links to things that have been a help to me. That and
I fully own my geekiness. And yes, this is my
black and gold Vanderbilt page–go Dores! |
